The Tiniest Exoskeleton
welcometothepleasuredome asked: How do you take your macro photographs? They're stunning!
Depends on which ones you’r talking about? I use a 60mm nikkor micro on a d700 body for standard backyard shoots. For high speed images, I used a device called a Time Machine camera controller (http://www.bmumford.com/photo/camctlr.html). This enables any photographer to time precision to capture the decisive moment.
For focal stacking, I use a stacking rail called a Stack Shot (http://www.cognisys-inc.com/stackshot/stackshot.php) and stacking software called Helicon. To gain greater magnification, I employ a pb6 bellows with a nikkor 50mm. I hope I helped a little :)
Here is some old film micrographs I took a while back.
rollmyiceinchlorophyll asked: Dude, your work is astounding. You are crazy talented behind the lens, keep it up, because I want to brag about knowing you when you are famous.

I think the same about your skills on paper! One day you will be far more famous than I, so we should still hang out if that happens.
the more overwhelmed and frustrated I get. How do we bring about change? How do you convince people to become vegetarian?
It’s such an obvious thing in my mind not to kill and eat living things, but I know that it doesn’t come across in all people’s minds that way. I think about the thousands of…
Can’t agree with Liz more! But what can you do? In my experience, when you give facts and wisdom about the consumption of animals, you are only met with ignorance and arrogance! It’s sickening to see how we as a species have a majority of us lacking in compassion for other living creatures.
It’s unfortunate to see how much this world is overcome with lust and greed for the flesh of another living creature. We need to evolve and take our world into consideration!
This is a painting given to me and created by my older brother, Luke. The webs and entangled people are all made of hand spun yarn! He’s an alright brother. Recently won 1st place in an arts competitions sculpture division. Check out some of his other work! http://www.facebook.com/luke.boslem
Hey there, my dear followers!
I’m heading into the museum on Friday for another shoot. I’m curious as to what you you all would like to see under magnifications up to 160x. Click the “Want to Know More?” button to send in some suggestions.
Much love!
